Your Shout - Moans and groans from Spurs and Arsenal fans
Published: 1 July, 2010
WHY is it that life is never simple as a Tottenham fan?
We’re on the verge of one of our biggest-ever campaigns, with Champion League football looming, and yet disruptions off the pitch are threatening to derail our pre-season preparations.
It was bad enough when Harry Redknapp was tipped as the next England boss, without the Spurs man then declaring it would be his dream job.
I admire Redknapp’s patriotism, but revealing he could never turn down the chance to manage his country when he is under contract at Spurs shows a lack of class.
He should be thinking about what players would make Spurs stronger or what he will do to keep us in the top four, instead of touting himself for another job.
I hope England snub him, and then we should boot Redknapp out of White Hart Lane and attract a more respectful boss.
Let’s see the return of Jurgen Klinsmann, who definitely doesn’t want the England job.

• I’M tired of hearing how England’s embarrassing World Cup shambles is somehow Arsenal’s fault.
Arsene Wenger has been constantly criticised and dubbed the architect of England’s downfall because he refuses to promote homegrown players.
What rubbish.
First, Wenger has always patiently built his players regardless of their nationality.
Secondly, he has in fact got a string of top English players emerging at the club, including Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, Henri Lansbury and Gavin Hoyte.
Theo Walcott has also been given plenty of chances and despite failing to impress in a Gunners’ shirt Wenger will no doubt give him more opportunities this season.
If an English player is good enough they will break into any team and be able to handle the competition by proving they’re the best man for the job.
Instead of whining, perhaps homegrown players should train harder, improve on their technique and try winning for a change.

• AS one of many Arsenal fans still nervously waiting for defenders to arrive at the Emirates, I hope Arsene Wenger is ready and willing to take advantage of Liverpool’s leadership change.
With Roy Hodgson replacing Rafael Benitez at Anfield, now is the perfect time to raid Fulham and sign Brede Hangeland.
Whoever takes over at Craven Cottage will no doubt prioritise getting the Norwegian defender to stay at the club. So before the dust settles I hope to see Wenger make his move.
