Digital switch debacle

Published: 8 July, 2010

• AS a Camden leaseholder I am outraged that the council is forcing the Integrated Reception Systems (IRS) home entertainment system on Winter Garden House (Digital TV bills a real turn-off, July 1).

WGH is already fully cabled for Sky/Virgin (on the building exterior) in addition to BT cabling (interior).

This existing cabling from the existing communal system in our building provides a strong digital signal (for which leaseholders pay an annual fee).

Why then does Camden want to enforce something on so many that is always already surplus to requirements?

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Winter Garden House, we have regular flooding into the communal hallway from an adjoining property, that is patched up with temporary repairs.

Essential repairs should be the priority.

Digital Switchover

Tenants & leaseholders have been duped by Camden - analogue aerials work just fine as digital receivers! Suggest everyone refuse to allow access to 'installers' (cowboys) & refuse to pay a penny for this ridiculous outrage
