IT was the second string’s time to shine on Saturday as Hampstead Ladies Rugby Club showed off their new-found strength in depth.
The fledgling team stormed to a commanding 46-14 points victory over Hackney as they continue their quest to play enough friendlies this season to register for a development league next term.
Winger Sybil Aku (pictured) was the star of the show scoring three tries with strong runs and hand-offs to go over.
Mel Wright also put in a good display, scoring two tries and putting in an immense display in defence, while Keshia Evans made three conversions in her last game before leaving for Austria.
Meanwhile Hampstead Ladies’ first team drew 17-17 away at Ashford in Division One of the South-East Regional National Challenge League. Marcella Collins scored two tries, while Kate Gallagher also crossed over the line.
Maja Melendez added the extra points with a conversion.
