PHOENIX manager Dave Harber insists star striker Anthony Clarke will reach “at least” 50 goals this season in the Camden Sunday League.
Clarke, dubbed The Machine, scored twice at the weekend as Phoenix drew 4-4 against Mostyn in their opening game in the President’s Cup.
The brace means that with at least three games to go, Clarke, who lives in Kentish Town, has now scored 48 goals.
Manager Harber said: “I have no doubt that Anthony will get 50 goals at least this season.
“I’ve been involved in the Camden league for over 40 years and I’ve never known a player to score so many goals in one season. He’s been phenomenal.”
Jason Donion and Gespi Falzone also scored for Phoenix in Sunday’s thrilling 4-4 draw.
