GOSPEL Oak School in Mansfield Road can proudly boast to have some of the best young athletes in the borough after winning the Sportshall Athletics Championships, writes Steve Barnett.
Organised by the Camden Schools Sports Association, 11 schools took part in the annual competition, which was held at the Somers Town Sports Centre in Chalton Street.
Gospel Oak just managed to edge out runners-up Fitzjohn’s Primary in Hampstead, while Carlton Primary School in Kentish Town finished third.
At the end of a thrilling day of action, each school nominated one boy and one girl for a special medal based on how they contributed to the day, rewarding their good behaviour, sporting attitude and helpfulness.
