LYNDHURST have unveiled a new young football team that clearly has what it takes to tackle the challenge at Market Road.
The club’s youngest side has been impressing onlookers in the friendly Under-8s Division as they prepare for life in the competitive league next term.
On Saturday Emmanuel Mayaka scored four goals as Lyndhurst beat The Hill to stretch their record to just one defeat in 11 games.
Captain Ben Julian, Frankie Sabine, Harry Howe and Reece Jones also all scored as the talented team run out 8-0 winners.
In the same age group Primrose Hill, who have also only lost one game this season, drew 1-1 with Islington Admiral Youth thanks to a strike from Sam Bjarnnasson.
Sister club Belsize Park put on a spirited display as they lost 4-1 against Regent’s Park Panthers. Striker Leo Topilan scored for Belsize.
In the Under-10s ‘A’ Division Isledon Wolves moved a step closer to winning the title with a 2-0 victory over St Pancras.
Nathan Carlyle struck the opener with a fierce shot from outside of the box. With Ruben Lourenco marshalling the Wolves defence the Saint’s strikers were kept at bay. Jack Cheeseman wrapped up the win, which leaves Wolves nine points clear at the top.
Beyond the borough, Locomotive Youth beat Boundary Park 2-1 in the Under-14s Premier Division of the Cheshunt Youth League.
Playmaker George Yianni broke the deadlock after good work on the touchline by EJ Gyebi allowed Jake Casey to play a killer pass.
The Camden-based side doubled their advantage when a great pass from skipper Shane Cojocarel put Gyebi in for his 26th goal of the season. Boundary pulled a goal back, but Locomotive held on for their ninth win in ten league games to leave them just three points behind table-toppers Brimsdown.
