Camden & Islington Youth League - Hot-shot kids show the future is bright

PLAYERS lining-up in the youngest age group of the Camden and Islington Youth League more than played their part in a pulsating week at the artificial football pitches in Market Road.
Proving the league has a bright future ahead of it, under-8s teams representing The Heath (pictured in blue) and Regent’s Park Jaguars (in green) entertained the crowds on Saturday morning.
The thrilling contest saw The Heath run out 3-0 winners thanks to strikes from Dion Sfarca, James Taylor and Rufus Poss Davies.
The action continued in the same age group with Lyndhurst beating Regent’s Park Cougars 8-0. Ben Julian, Emmanuel Mayaka and Frankie Sabine all scored two goals each, while strikes from Cameron Saunders and Rohan Chohan completed the scoring.
Belsize Youth are a point clear in the Under-9s ‘A’ Division after beating Islington Admiral 2-0 thanks to efforts from Ethan Kaye and Viren Chugani.
Delighted manager Chace O’Neill said after the game: “The boys have worked very hard and have shown great character for their age.”
Sister club Primrose Hill and Angel Islington both remain unbeaten in the same division after battling out a 3-3 draw. Two goals from Eden Prime and a neat finish from Charlie Reeves looked to have earned Primrose the points.
But a spirited Angel side refused to buckle and sealed a magnificent comeback with Archie Gadsdon’s brace and a strike from Jordan Cole.
Primrose Hill Under-11s moved above Westway on goal-difference in the ‘A’ Division on Friday after beating their title rivals 2-1 in a nail-biting encounter. Alex Viviano scored a dramatic late winner for Primrose when he volleyed home an inch-perfect cross from Jonah Perez with less than a minute left on the clock.
Kelyn Howel had given Primrose the lead but Westway hit back to level the scores and set-up a frantic finale.
In the same age group, a goal from AJ Shankar helped Isledon Wolves rescue a point in their game against Futebol de Salao. The match ended 1-1, with Wolves goalkeeper Logan Rose and defender Kieron Loughlin both putting in superb displays.
In the Under-12s ‘A’ Division Henry White put in a Lionel Messi-like performance to earn Angel Islington the points in their game against Inter Markfield. The talented youngster capped a man-of-the-match display with two great goals to earn Angel a 2-1 victory.
Isledon Wolves stretched their unbeaten run to eight games in the Under-13s ‘B’ Division on Monday with a 2-0 win over Pro Touch. Goals from Tommy Smith and Alfie Costello wrapped up the win, leaving Wolves joint top with Peel but with a game in hand.
The top two in the Under-14s ‘B’ Division battled out a goalless draw on Friday. Jubba Youth stay a point clear of Isledon Wolves, who had Chadrak Louisela and goalkeeper Collins Katsigazi to thank for a point.
