LOCOMOTIVE will face holders Wealdstone in the semi-final of the prestigious Middlesex County Cup after overcoming Whetstone Wanderers in an epic battle on Sunday.
The Camden-based footballers attacked Whetstone from the first whistle and got the breakthrough in the 13th minute when a long ball from Euan Taylor-Reid allowed EJ Gyebi to slot the ball home.
Whetstone equalised within minutes, but Locomotive restored their lead when a neat pass from George Yianni found Gyebi, who smashed it into the top corner.
Manager Jamie Houghton said: “Our back four were excellent but, to be fair, everyone in the team defended really well. It was a real gritty performance.”
