Football: Kentish Town voted Spartan team of the month

Published: 16 December, 2010

KENTISH Town were named Spartan South Midland Premier Division team of the month for November after an unbeaten run of four wins and a draw.

That run continued on Saturday as new boss John Creith saw them draw 2-2 with Stotfold on his first game in charge.

Five of Town’s starting line-up were aged just 17 and the youngsters found themselves chasing the game after Stotfold went two up at Barnet Copthall.

Keeper James Noonan raised his game to keep Town in the match as the clock ticked down and the young side showed maturity beyond their years to come back into the match.

Creith opted to change formation and his decision paid off, sub Aaron Clarke pulling a goal back with barely eight minutes still on the clock.

Creith then threw on new signing Phillip Ankrah to boost  the attack and the striker duly hit the equaliser with a sweet left foot shot at the death.

And Town were due to be in action again last night (Wednesday) against Hadley.
