KENTISH Town FC’s new manager John Creith is set to oversee his first match in charge of the club on Saturday when Town host Stotfold FC at Barnet Copthall.

Creith, formerly Town’s Under-17 manager, was appointed to the top job following the departure of Rak Hudson in November.

With five matches on the calendar for December, 42-year-old Creith will have to hit the ground running as he steps up to the managerial plate.

With that in mind, Creith has already bolstered his squad with five new signings including Town old boys David Dawson, Joe O’Carroll and Anthony Clarke, striker Phillip Ankrha from Wealdstone and his son Sean Creith.

“We’ve got a good blend of youth and experience and our points in the league don’t reflect the squad we’ve got,” said Creith, a teaching assistant who holds a Uefa B coaching licence.

Town currently sit in lowly 17th position in the 22-team Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League.

But the first team enter December on the back of a fine run of four wins and one draw and Creith is confident they can maintain that form.

He added: “My aim is to carry on the work that Rak Hudson has done and push the squad up this league.”

Town’s director of football, Frank Zanre, will undertake the role of assistant manager until the end of the season.
