TOP trainer CJ Hussein thanked the “tremendous support” shown to his fighters at the St Pancras Amateur Boxing Club dinner show on Thursday, which was held at the London Irish Centre in Camden Square.
In a night of high action, Rubel Ahmed, Daniel Troy, Andre Bowen and Pierre Moncrieffe all dominated the ring to notch up a series of impressive victories for the host club.
Debutant Jack Sinnott, John Casey and Charlie Worley were also all in action, although they narrowly lost their respective bouts on points.
One of the fights of the night saw Saints’ club-mates Freddie Owens and Jordan Joseph go head-to-head in a skills bout after their scheduled opponents failed to show.
Afterwards Saints’ coach Hussein said: “The show went to plan and was a great success. We had a great turnout, and I want to thank everyone for their support.”
It was the final club show that St Pancras will host ahead of the redevelopment of their gym in Talacre Road, Kentish Town, which is scheduled to get underway in March.
Elsewhere Islington Boxing Club’s classy new recruit Stephanie Louis-Fernand recorded her first win against Laura Uncle on the Dagenham and Met Police show at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on Thursday.
Competing at 66kg, the hard-hitting 19-year-old (pictured) showed tremendous movement and counter punching to earn a unanimous points decision after three tough rounds.
