I bet Spurs fans turned over to The Apprentice

THE CROW
REMEMBER those Spurs fans who left the Carling Cup match against Arsenal earlier this season with 25 minutes still left on the clock because their team were getting bopped. I wonder what they were doing last night when Inter wrapped up the game before anybody could blink?
Four nil down at half-time: I bet the house I don’t own that some of them switched over to Masterchef. Or The Apprentice. Or something about obese children on Living. Anything. They are like that.
Yet their readiness to desert Tottenham when things go wrong is hard to understand. When they did complete a comeback, that unlikely 4-4 draw with two goals in injury time against Arsenal a couple of years back, the players celebrated in front of rows and rows of empty seats. The supporters had all given up and gone home. Scarpered. Spurs’ penchant for the unlikely deserves better. Only they would lose four goals in the first half and then score three in the second, so near but yet so far.
Now, why would you not stay to the final whistle for a team that acts so unpredictably? They are the clown jesters of the Champions League. Wonderful.
