ARSENAL Ladies have snapped up a new signing, but fans will be forgiven for thinking they have seen the midfielder before!
Katie Chapman has returned to the club after a short stint playing in America with the Chicago Red Stars.
The 28-year-old was a pivotal part of the team, making 103 appearances and scoring 43 goals in four years and helping the Gunners win eight major trophies.
Katie said: “I’m so excited to be coming back. I’ve got loads of great memories, and I look forward to creating more!”
Hampstead in glory fightback
HAMPSTEAD made a glittering debut in the Women’s FA Cup on Sunday when they beat Leyton Ladies in their first qualifying round.
Trailing 1-0 at the break, Hampstead put in a sizzling second-half display that saw star player Val Toro and substitute Meroulla Lazarou grab two goals apiece. Becky Barnes was also on target as they ran out 5-1 winners.
Manager John Baker heaped praise the team: “I’m very proud of the mental strength that the girls showed. Despite being one-nil down at half time, there wasn’t a single person that didn’t truly believe we’d go on to win it,” he said.
