YOUNGSTERS were rewarded for their efforts during this year’s London Youth Games and the Mini Youth Games at a special ceremony at the Talacre Community Sports Centre in Kentish Town.
Boys and girls aged seven to 17 took the multi-sports event by storm to help Camden earn their highest ever position at the games, which were held in Crystal Palace.
Overall Team Camden amassed 928 points to finish 16th out of the 33 London boroughs. One of the biggest successes came in the aquathlon, where Gregory Rollo-Walker captured gold, Bronwyn Matthews and James Slade collected silver and Ben Hatch won bronze.
There were also individual medals in the swimming, the athletics and the indoor rowing.
In the team events the boys’ artistic gymnastics team won bronze, while the boccia team competing in the Mini Youth Games won silver.
