FOUR-MIDABLE forward Mathew Herman led Colts to a league and cup double on Thursday at the Talacre Community Sports Centre.

The striker played a terrific through-ball to set up team-mate Colby Arnold for the opening goal, before going on a net-busting rampage and scoring four goals.

Arnold also scored again after some clever play from Adhom Miah as the Colts beat Fleet 6-0 to get their hands on the Talacre Action Group Primary Schools Cup.

The victory capped a magnificent season for the Colts, who had already been crowned champions in the Talacre Action Group Five-A-Side League.

It’s the fourth successive time that the unstoppable side have won the league, and the second time on the spin that they have captured a league and cup double.

Afterwards manager Rokib Ali, who runs the team with help from Leroy Goddard and Michael Clarke, said: “We’re all so proud of the boys. The pressure was on to successfully defend their titles and, as always, they rose to the occasion.”

Players from Fleet pushed Colts all the way as they finished as runners-up in both the league and the cup.

There were also trophies for Three Acres, hosts Talacre and Highgate Newtown who all helped make the tournaments competitive.
