Your Shout - Camden New Journal readers back England for the World Cup

Last week’s Match Point provoked a lively response after Steve Barnett said he’d hate England to win the World Cup, because he could never feel proud of players like John Terry and Ashley Cole…

Blindsided by Arsenal specs

I FIND it hard to swallow that a so-called England fan would want us to fail because of, in your opinion, two unsavoury characters.
Are you sure it’s not your Arsenal connection that has swayed you into this line of thought? After all, there’s not one Arsenal player representing England!
An Arsenal squad full of overseas players is a rather lame reason for not supporting England.
There are 21 other players in the squad.
As for players like Ledley King, one bad night does not make for a bad person.
If you met him you’d quickly change your mind as he is one of the few gentlemen out there!

Get onside!

WE’RE meant to be a united nation, backing our boys to win the World Cup. So why can’t you just get onside?
There may be players in the England squad who haven’t always hit the headlines for the right reasons, but now they’re in South Africa they should be supported!
If England bring the trophy home it would eclipse the antics of a few dodgy players.
I think this country could do with a lift and I hope our Lions can provide it.
Sadly, after their lacklustre show against the US, I doubt they’re capable of winning anything. They looked one-dimensional, and I fully expected Fabio Capello to send out a search party for Wayne Rooney.
