HAMPSTEAD’S disappointing early-season form continued on Saturday when they suffered their second defeat in three games away at Brondesbury.
Having opted to bowl first, the visitors got off to a good start as they dismissed openers Chris Paget and Alex Ball for 15 and three runs respectively.
Mark Turner swung the game back in Brondesbury’s favour with a solid stand of 93 off 164 balls as the hosts reached 231 off 64 overs.
Brandon Buckley was the pick of the Hampstead bowlers with three wickets at the expense of 29 runs.
Buckley needed to do more with the bat, however, as he managed just one run before being caught by James Overy. It was more than fellow opener Ross Antrobus managed as he was bowled after just two balls by Glen Read without scoring.
Mubasher Hassan was the only player to offer up any real resistance as he scored 82 off 101 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. But without any support, Hampstead fell 55-runs short of their winning-target as they were bowled out for 177.

Enfield 156-7
NORTH Middlesex failed to make home advantage count on Saturday despite an opening stand of 114 by Evan Flowers and Adam Evans Holmes.
Evans Holmes finally went in the 33rd over after scoring 30 from 97 balls. Flowers recorded a knock of 80 off 89 balls, hitting 13 fours, before being unnecessarily run out.
Albeit 50 runs short of his ideal score, captain Flowers opted to declare in the 52nd with a slender score of 206-9.
Enfield skipper Neil Tilley began the chase in rapid fashion as he hit 37 off 50 balls before being caught by Amir Mappara after some testing bowling by Brad Sculley.
Wickets fell at regular intervals with seamer Darren Eckford and spinner Nick Packard both taking two wickets apiece.
Without injured spinner Jaron Semper, however, North Midd lacked a cutting edge and had to settle for four points for a draw as Enfield ended on 156-7.
Elsewhere in Division Two, South Hampstead’s miserable start to the season continued as they suffered a six wicket defeat against Brentham.
