Marylebone Station

I wonder if any of the current residents who are complaining about pollution levels remember Marylebone station in the mid 1980's.

The station was slated for closure and close to falling apart. The passenger services were run with multiple units which were 25 years old and left a blue fog of half burnt fuel in the air as they departed. Luckily Network South East made the case for keeping the railway and not converting the station into a long distance coach station. Many millions of pounds were invested in new rolling stock, new signalling and a total refurbishment of the station and the route out to the Chilterns.

Perhaps the residents would have preferred the proposed coach station?
