YOUNGSTERS from Somers Town FC were crowned champions in the Camden and Islington Youth League on Friday.
Goals from Billy Foster and Benn Weston saw the talented under-14s side take the title with a 2-0 victory over Peel.
Somers Town will be given the opportunity to complete the double on Friday when they face Peel again, this time in the final of the Under-14s Challenge Cup.
In the Under-9s ‘B’ League St Pancras edged a game closer to being crowned champions with a 3-1 victory over rivals Regent’s Park.
Michael Diver gave the Saints the lead with a cool first time strike after good work by Zak Gaunt and Bailey Johnston. Regent’s Park netted a deserved equaliser before the break to set up a pulsating second half.
St Pancras edged back in front thanks to an instinctive finish from Malachi Burrell, which is how the score stayed until the dying seconds when Joel Chileshe scored to make the points safe.
The result leaves St Pancras a point ahead of Angel Islington at the top of the table with three games to go.
In the Under-9s ‘A’ League Isledon Wolves are hoping to end their season on a high after beating Westway on Monday.
Harry Charie gave Wolves the lead with a super lob midway through the first half, but Westway equalised with a thunderous free-kick. Showing tremendous battling spirit, Isledon bit-back to net a 2-1 victory thanks to Jack Cheeseman’s late winner.
