RIVALS Reddot and Phoenix will go head-to-head one last time this season after booking their place in the final of the Senior Cup.
The Dots will be out to gain revenge over Phoenix, who pipped them to the title in Division One of the Camden Sunday League.
Reddot eased past Cobden Athletic in the semi-finals on Sunday. Jason Medford opened the scoring from close range, before netting his second in unfortunate fashion when he scored an own-goal to gift Cobden an equaliser.
Medford redeemed himself when he scored at the right end to restore Reddot’s lead, followed by a goal from Paul Reid to make it 3-1.
Man-of-the-Match Medford capped a memorable afternoon when he completed his hat-trick, before reeling away roaring “Bring on Phoenix!”
Afterwards the player said: “Facing Phoenix is just what the doctor ordered. They tipped us to the title so we really want to beat them.”
Phoenix will be ready for the challenge, especially after beating Sir Robert Peel 4-1.
Jake King fired Phoenix ahead before Anthony Clark scored his 30th goal of the season. Strikes from Charlie Kanaris and Jason Donoghue wrapped up the win.
Looking ahead to the final on March 21, Phoenix manager Dave Harber said: “Reddot against Phoenix is the final that everybody wanted. There will certainly be fireworks – bring it on.”
