Tescos Fortune Green - a solution to a lack of choice
Submitted by ponyandpanda on Thu, 2010-02-18 12:46.If the local shops provided what people really need, it wouldn't be difficult to support them, would it?
A part from more affordable prices, Tesco's offers a variety of fresh produce that we can select from on the way home from work to make an entire meal for the family on the fly.
Shops such as Trends and the Kitchen stores only provide bits and bobs, at astronomical prices.
Even though all these things are delicious, we can't make regular meals out of chocolate bars, cans, cereals, tea bags, crisps or mini meat pies!
George's fruit and Veg on Mill Lane, for example, he's got it right.
All we need now are a butcher and a fishmonger to compliment George's services with all the other local shops.
In this case, Tesco's could definitely start worrying.
I'm sure everybody would love to boycott Tesco's, but until corner shops provide fresher foods with the idea of meal-planning, rather than snacking, i think things aren't going to change.
