Parks Patrol
Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 2011-07-16 15:09.I would firstly like to congratulate them on the fine job that these officers do, as I think their work is outstanding in making the Borough a safer place!
I have been carrying out a bit of research on the Parks Patrol who patrol within the Islington area, and I beleive that I have an answer as to why they patrol in a vehicle and not on foot or bicycle!
It appears that they only have a two man team that are required to patrol ALL parks in the Borough, which on last count is near enough 130 parks, open space and squares!! I therefore think it is very unjust to say that this is an ineffiecient use of resources, as how else would you propose that they continue with such an effective job?
I beleive in order to make it more effective there should be an increase in their numbers, perhaps two teams across the Borough, that would certainly make it more efficient, perhaps a north and south team??
There is a lot of press on the Parks Patrol which shows how effective they are in what they do, see the article below from the Met Police as one example!

I say keep up the good work, and that we should see more of them on the streets, the parks and the local estates!
