Inside Out
Art by Offenders - Royal Festival Hall
SHORT of going to visit one of the UK's prisons, perhaps the best insight we can gain on life behind bars for our massive prison population is the Art By Offenders exhibition currently being staged in the foyer at the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank. It includes some 6,000 entries for the 2009 Arthur Koestler awards, ranging from paintings and photographs to models and soap sculptures.
There are free exhibition tours every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm and every Saturday at 3pm throughout the exhibition which runs until December 6 at the Spirit Level, Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, admission free. Open daily 10am-11pm.
