New Hawley stripped for action
THE Rumble Strips’ new album has been mixed by Mark Ronson – the ideal pedigree for the band chosen to launch a new monthly music extravaganza at celebrity haunt The Hawley Arms. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the Hawley is growing stronger by the second – good old Amy Winehouse can still be spotted there, as can Mischa Barton when she’s not on Primrose Hill with Pixie Geldof.
The infamous great fire of Camden may have temporarily quelled the Hawley’s rock persona but it couldn’t stay down for long.
From Monday, Apocalypstick will bring a monthly bill of the hottest new talent, crammed full with live performances, one-off show-stopping sets and the usual shameless mayhem.
The first line-up includes The Rumble Strips, Roxy Rawson and Sam McCarthy, who will take to the tiny stage to play to an intimate crowd of 250 lucky fans.
(Entrance to Apocalypstick will be on a strictly first come first served basis from 7pm on Monday, August 3, with a voluntary charity donation going to the music charity Nordoff Robbins.
