Pick of the Indies - GET FREE TICKETS TO END OF THE LINE!
IT is a film that will put you right off your dinner – especially if it involves any seafood.
End of the Line is a hard-hitting documentary by director Rupert Murray.
Out next week and based on the book by Daily Telegraph journalist Charles Clover, it explores the issues facing fishing today. There are two factors you have to take into account that make this film a must-see. First, it is beautifully shot and produced, with a round-the-world tour of fishing grounds and what lurks beneath included. Second, the evidence presented is so shocking we all have a moral duty to sit up, take notice and act.
While environmental films are all the rage, this is the first to deal solely with what we greedy humans have done to the oceans. The facts are startling and action must be taken now: fish stocks have collapsed. Many fish populations are beyond saving.
Because Pick of the Indies would like to feel we have done our bit to spread the word, we’ve arranged for seven free tickets for our readers for a sneak preview of this great film on Monday. All you have to do is email dcarrier@camdennewjournal.co.uk before 3pm on Friday and the first seven people get a pair of tickets to watch the flick at the Vue in Finchley Road. Easy!
Tickets for all performances of End of the Line can be purchased at

Meanwhile, congratulations to the Camden Society. The charity who help people with learning disabilities have been celebrating their first-ever film festival this week.
Among the topics the films have touched on include how people with disabilities manage in work, while a drama made by people at the Grange Day Centre in Kilburn explores hate crime.
There have been 12 films made for the festival and tomorrow (Friday) the directors, casts and crews will be gathering for their very own Oscar-style ceremony at the swanky Glaziers Hall on the banks of the Thames.
