Record of the Week - Victory - Black to Front

AT 17, Victory – the son of an Eritrean warrior – has penned his own album, set up his own label and ­produced some of his own songs.
Verging on the softer side of hip-hop, Black to Front covers life as a young refugee living on a Camden estate, making reference to gritty experiences of the surrounding effects of crime, but with an overarching message of peace.
His lyrics span ­popular cultural ­references from Harry Potter to Heroes via thoughts on Islam and even a nod to painter Whistler.
