Therapy through strings
PREVIEW: SILVER CLEF CONCERT Nordoff Robbins HQ
THE second Silver Clef concert arranged by Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy organisation takes place at its headquarters in Lissenden Gardens, off Highgate Road, on Saturday.
Playing at the concert for free will be violinist Tom Hankey, a key member of the Aronowitz Ensemble, accompanied by
Mario Eugster, a Swiss pianist and organist now resident in London
Two violin sonatas are on the programme.
They are Beethoven’s challenging No9 in A major op47, familiarly known as the Kreutzer, and Brahms’ No1 in G major, op78.
“We launched the Silver Clef series of concerts at our therapy centre in January,” says Fraser Simpson, a Nordoff-Robbins manager.
“The aim of the concerts is to use our facilities for music-lovers in the local community to come and hear some great music.
“If there’s a surplus, then that will go into our charitable funds.”
• The concert is at Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy HQ,
2 Lissenden Gardens, NW5, 020 7267 4496, 7pm, £10 on the door (no concessions)
