The Review - MUSIC - grooves with RóISíN GADELRAB

Grooves

OVER Easter I stumbled across an old primary school diary I used to keep. Along with the list of my best friends, favourite animals and Christmas presents I planned to buy, was a note of my favourite bands.
At first I was happy to see I recognised the value of music so young, until I read on. UB40, Michael Jackson and New Kids on the Block. You can’t hide your past, hey? Naturally, I caught up with the cool kids during my teenage years, but just thought you ought to know the kind of person who runs this page.

• So Kasabian and The Enemy are the final two bands to be announced for the Camden Crawl. But I’ll be keeping my eye out for any late surprises. All I know so far is that The Holloways will be doing a secret gig.

• If you can’t afford the real Crawl, try out the alternative Camden Crawl at 176 Prince of Wales Road on the same weekend – live music totally free. Visit www.projectspace176.com

• If you’re prepared to stray across the border you could warm up for the Crawl by heading to Dalston for the Land of Kings Festival (Thursday and Friday, April 16 and 17). There’s a huge line-up of club names and live bands, and entry to all is via a wristband. Info from www.landofkings.co.uk
