Mix is just the ticket
THIS cocktail of 09 Crawl artists, to be released April 24, is a helpful nudge if you can’t decide who you want to see and is only available on download to ticket-holders. If you’re expecting a grungy, indie collection, think again. Yes, there’s long hair and guitars, but you’ll also get dance/grime from Camden boys Man Like Me’s Carny, lady rap from Goldielocks with Smash and Grab, decadence from Hockey with 3am Spanish and cheeky boy chat from The King Blues, with Save the World, Get the Girl.
There’s some harder stuff from The Computers’ Teenage Tourettes Camp, and Kasms with Taxidermy, both a little too screechy for me.
Best tracks: The Joy Formidable’s Salad-like Whirring, Alessi’s Ark’s dreamy Magic Weather, Chew Lips’ Solo, Datarock’s Give It Up, and Flashguns’ Panama.
