Grooves
THE announcements keep coming and it’s just making me more impatient for next month to roll on and bring the Camden Crawl (April 24-25). I’m so pleased to see my favourite Scousers Echo and the Bunnymen added to the list. And the younger crowd should be thrilled to see the magnificent Howling Bells have been added to the X-Crawl – I saw them in Islington and loved every minute. New acts added to the bill include: Friday – Echo & The Bunnymen, Idlewild, Kentish Town’s Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, Mumford & Sons, The Von Bondies, The Whip and Wire.
Saturday – Billy Bragg, Golden Silvers, Ipso Facto, King Creosote, Little Boots and Toddla T.
• IF I wasn’t lucky enough to already have a copy, I’d be the first to enter our competition to win The Answer’s album Everyday Demons – it’s about time some screaming rock gods returned to the scene.
• IT’S nearly St Patrick’s Day and the Dublin Castle is hosting a special charity night in memory of late landlord Alo Conlon. Four Irish bands – Pilotlight, Driving by Night, The Vital Spark and Vonbizmark –will play to raise money for Macmillan nurses.
