• Flame and Citron (15) - THIS well-observed and fast-paced war thriller tells the story of two Resistance fighters battling the Nazi occupation of Denmark.
Flame is an angry anarchist, desperate to take the fight to the Germans, while his accomplice, Citron, is a quieter family man. Both find themselves playing small but important roles in a world war that bends the usual rules of loyalty and trust.
It’s well cast – leads Thure Lindhart and Mads Mikkelsen are believable. The recreation of the atmosphere of Copenhagen in 1944 fully immerses you in the plot. And the moral dilemmas of fighting individuals who have become the personification of an evil ideology means the pair’s work is never clear-cut.
