Carole Phillips
Solo sessions with duo of jazz singers
PREVIEW - CAROLE PHILLIPS, LAURA LONG and GUESTS (TBC)
Bar Solo
JAZZ singers Carole Phillips and Laura Long kick off a new weekly session at Bar Solo in Inverness Street on Wednesday at 8pm. The duo will be accompanied by the Jazzaholics, a new outfit featuring Joe Bickerstaff on piano and Lance Rose on bass.
Laura tells me the sessions will feature plenty of cool, mellow music. And there will be a “jazz jam” on the third Wednesday of each month, when musicians will be invited to join the ensemble and a few brave members of the audience might even get their chance to take to the stage.
Entry is free, but there’s a two-course set menu available (at £10 per person) if you feel like nibbling while you groove.
