PREVIEW:UBS SOUNDSCAPES: ECLECTICA/BURNS NIGHT
LSO St Luke's
TO celebrate the 250th anniversary later this month of the Scottish Bard’s birth, LSO St Luke’s are hosting a Burns Night like no other.
Wednesday’s concert will feature atmospheric folk music of the Scottish Highlands and Islands with harp and fiddle mixed with the vibrant salsa band Salsa Celtica, creating a unique fusion of Latin and Celtic sounds worthy of any Burns supper.
You may still be feeling the hangover from singing Auld Lang Syne last month, but this celebration looks set to be a really “guid nicht”.
The concert is curated by James MacMillan, one of the UK’s leading composers and subject of next season’s LSO Artist Focus.
• Burn Night is at LSO St Lukes, Jerwood Hall, on Wednesday at 8pm. Tickets cost £7-£21 020 7638 8891
