Something to mull over
PREVIEW: HIGHGATE CHORAL SOCIETY
St Michael's Church and Royal Albert Hall
THE Highgate Choral Society will fill the halls of St Michael’s Church with Christmas anthems, traditional carols and the sweet smell of mulled wine and mince pies on Saturday December 13.
The society, which recently celebrated its 130th birthday with a sell-out performance at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, will be performing a sublime selection of festive music old and new, interspersed with familiar carols which the audience is invited to join in.
Musical director Ronald Corp (pictured right) will lead the chorus through their paces, while Daniel Moult will provide organ accompaniment.
Though the concert starts at 7.30pm, it might be an idea to come early, as the wine and mince pies will be served before the event, as well as in the interval. There will be a retiring collection for the Mental Health Foundation, which, is a leading UK charity working in mental health and learning disabilities.
• The Highgate Choral Society (HCS) perform at St Michael’s Church, South Grove, N6, on Saturday December 13 at 7.30pm. £11-£15 (concessions £8). 07952 508234
