Holloways ride back into town at Proud Camden
PREVIEW: THE HOLLOWAYS + DIRTY HARRY
Proud Camden
FINALLY, after six months in limbo at the mercy of their struggling record label, The Holloways are free men.
Well, relatively free. They are now under the control of digital distributors The Orchard, who have happily left the band to their own devices. This follows months of legal wrangles when the band’s previous label TVT fell into money troubles.
The unfortunate setback means the boys – who formed their band in a Holloway pub – are only now able to promote their next album, Tales From The Tarmac, penned this February but not due for release until next year.
They headline what promises to be one of Proud’s craziest parties yet with support from ex-pat LA wild-child and best friend of Courtney Love – Dirty Harry. The rock-chick has also recorded Making Me Crazy with Pammy’s ex, Tommy Lee. Harry is now preparing for an international onslaught by playing a few choice shows in England with her new band.
There’s DJ support from Men in Masks – club promoter and TV presenter Jeff Leach.
It will be Filter Magazine’s (USA) third night at Proud. This time the theme is Wild West. Each stable will be turned into an activity room, including a gambling den, an old-style Wild West saloon with cowgirls and boys, a shooting gallery and PlayStation shooting games. Stable four will have a plasma-screen logfire effect, projected starscape and an acoustic guitarist to serenade the night away.
• The Holloways play Proud, Camden tomorrow (Friday).
