PREVIEW: LAWRENCE POWER AND SIMON CRAWFORD-PHILLIPS

THE Primrose Hill Celebrity Concerts series continues on Monday with a performance by Lawrence Power, one of contemporary classical music’s foremost violinists.
After winning many international prizes, including becoming the first British winner of The William Primrose International Viola Competition in Canada, Power was selected for the BBC “New Generations” scheme, which led to numerous broadcasts in recital and as a soloist with the BBC orchestras.
The programme will include works by Schumann, Bowen and Shostakovich.
• Lawrence Power and Simon Crawford Phillips (piano) perform at St Mary’s Church, Elsworthy Road, NW3, on Monday at 7.30pm.
PREVIEW: JAMES KELLAS St Mary Magdelane Church
PIANIST James Kellas will play Haydn, Tippett and Rachmaninov at a recital at St Mary Magdalene Church on Wednesday November 26.
Mr Kellas’s performance, which starts at the Holloway Road church at 2.45pm, will be followed by tea and mince pies.
Entry to the concert is free, but there will be a collection for the St Mary Magdalene Centre for Refugees and Asylum Seekers.

PREVIEW: PATRICIA SIFFERT Burgh House
SWISS concert pianist Patricia Siffert performs at Burgh House on Sunday at 2.30pm. Alongside works by Schubert, Chopin and Mendelssohn, Siffert will also performing the premiere of Without Words, Without Silence, by London-based composer
Rosemary Duxbury. Tickets £10.
