Arcola has a tale to tell
Escape the usual clichéd Christmas fare! come to Arcola for a panto-alternative guaranteed to entertain you in ways you never imagined possible!
Tombstone Tales and Boothill Ballads 18 Nov – 20 Dec 8pm
Written and directed by Carl Heap
A Wild West docu-cabaret set in the Arizona deserts featuring strange but true stories to rattle your bones!
Comic, tragic, genuine and bizarre, each story has its own deathly theatrical flavour drawn from the cryptic epitaphs on the grave markers at Boothill Cemetery in Tombstone, silver boom town of the 1880s – expect fireside yarns, bar-room brag, Appalachian clog-dancing, glee-club harmonies, vaudeville turns and melodramatic cowboy ballads!
"This is a show of real wonder" (The Guardian on Jason and the Argonauts)
Carl Heap reunites the celebrated creatives behind his previous Christmas hits Ben Hur and Jason and the Argonauts to continue Arcola’s rich tradition of alternative seasonal fun. Recommended age 12+.
