Returning, for the tenth time
PREVIEW: RETURN TO CAMDEN Various venues
IT'S hard to believe, but Return to Camden – the UK’s internationally renowned traditional Irish music, song and dance festival – is now entering its tenth year.
This year’s festival, as always, features a stellar line-up of artists, drawn both from the Irish cultural diaspora and musicians who travel over for the 10-day shindig.
Virtuoso fiddle player Nollaig Casey is joined by Arty McGlynn, Máire Ní Chathasaigh and Chris Newman for the opening concert tomorrow (Friday) at the London Irish Centre.
Other highlights include Hibernian Rhapsody (featuring Frankie Gavin and Damien Mullane), At First Light (featuring John McSherry and Donal O’Connor) and the Ivy Leaf Céilí Band.
Dance and music workshops take place throughout the week.
