PREVIEW - INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL IN THE FALL King's Place
THE International Guitar Foundation presents the first annual London Guitar Festival in the Fall at Kings Place next week, showcasing guitarists from 11 countries who excel in flamenco, blues, jazz, contemporary, world, fingerstyle and fusion.
The festival features a broad and enterprising range of music from stars such as the virtuoso flamenco guitarist Gerardo Nuñez and the legendary classical guitarist and Grammy Award-winner David Russell.
During the week-long festival there are four commissions and nine world premieres of composed chamber guitar music. There are workshops for players from age 10 and beginners’ level upwards who would like to develop their flamenco, blues, classical and rock styles. One of these workshops, Electric Lady Land, is specifically for girls and women.
Bob Brozman, Gerard Nuñez and David Russell offer rare masterclasses for experienced and professional musicians.
