Join up for a Los cause!
WHEN Los Campesinos played the Camden Crawl at The Enterprise in April, 100 gig-goers were asked to sit on the floor, or risk it caving in.
They return on Monday to the stable foundations of the Electric Ballroom, on the Shred Yr Face tour, along with two other acts, No Age and Times New Viking. These exciting young bands co-headline eight dates across the UK.
Los Campesinos are a seven-piece ensemble whose live shows have seen their popularity spread from Cardiff to the rest of the Britain. Their new album, We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed, is out on October 27.
Tagging along are No Age, a two-piece LA-based band, fond of playing gigs in strange places, such as on the banks of the Los Angeles river to protest at the building of an aqueduct.
Rounding off the bill is Columbus Ohio’s Times New Viking. A band known for their disregard of modern recording techniques, Times New Viking prefer instead a very loud, rough, distorted sound. Live, expect it to be a lo-fi and fuzzy affair; loud enough to leave you with hearing difficulties but tuneful.
