DARLING of the Candid label, vocalist extraordinaire and Islington resident Mishka Adams hosts a new monthly residency at the Vortex Jazz Club in Dalston, presenting some of the finest musical talent around.
Mishka has been moonlighting on the London music scene for several years, after relocating from her native Philippines and signing with Candid Records. She has already released two albums – God Bless The Child and Space – both to national and international acclaim.
For her latest endeavour, Mishka aims to offer an opportunity to those artists she has encountered on her musical journey to perform their work in an open-minded environment.
Larô Nights will open the floor to a great number of different acts whose own artistic directions are in tune with Mishka’s own personal playlist. Expect anything from gospel to instrumental jazz and singer-songwriters.
Each session’s featured act will have a chance to perform their own material in addition to playing alongside Mishka’s band.
Combining different styles, Mishka aims to discard the sometimes restrictive concept of genres and explore the possibilities of an integrated evening of music that welcomes all comers with open arms.
