PUNTERS hungry for grub and culture in the same sitting can now get a play, a pint, and a ploughmans for a mere ten English sterling at the Albany pub in Great Portland Street.
Fleshpot Theatre, the company responsible for this masterstroke, are trumpeting new writing in the Monday-Thursday slots: first up is Michael Stewart’s Brood, intriguingly described as “Oedipus in a cornershop”, from July 28-August 14.
Lunch will never be the same again.
IT’S one for all and all for one at Kentish Town’s Lion and Unicorn Theatre for the next fortnight as the Solo Festival continues. Now in its second year, the one person shows range from stand-up comedy to mono-dramas, classical writing to contemporary. THERE’S a cavalcade of comedy this week at the Red Hedgehog on Archway Road, including Ivor Dembina and Wilson Dixon; and sandwiched in the middle of it all is a weekend of fundraising events for the independent live arts venue.
