Clare Latimer's recipe for
Apple sauce
Apple Sauce
The sauce should have quite a sharp taste but not bitter so keep tasting to get it right.
Ingredients
One large cooking apple, peeled, cored and chopped;
One desp sugar.
Method
Put the apple chunks into a saucepan with the sugar and a splash of water.
Cook over a medium heat, covered, for about five minutes or until the apple is soft.
Stir occasionally and then check for sweetness. Serve warm.
