PREVIEW: NEW LONDON SINGERS St Martin-In-the-Fields
NEW London Singers are launching a recording of Vivaldi’s choral music tomorrow (Friday). The concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields, in Trafalgar Square, features the choir and the New London Soloists Orchestra performing tracks from an album recorded at a concert sponsored by the New Journal and the South End Green Assocation, held at All Hallows Church in Savernake Road in the spring.
The group will also perform Barber’s Adagio for Strings and Whitacre’s I Thank You God and Sleep in honour of American Independence Day, and the world premiere of Samantha Fernando’s Change.
Choir members Elizabeth Weisberg and Grace Davidson are soloists, alongside violinist Mia Cooper. The 40-strong choir is an amateur one, but new singers are required to audition.
