Camden Features | Novas Gallery | Parkway | Sculpptures | Chris Cullen
FOR some months now the Novas Gallery in Parkway has been off limits to the public; hungry art lovers who peered through the windows were presented with only bare white walls. After a lengthy restoration period the gallery’s doors are once again open this week. The walls will remain untouched for the most part, however; sculpture is the order of the day.
Novas Scarman, the social justice charity behind the venue, is showcasing the work of 20 local sculptors from their Sculpture Studio near Arlington House.
The contributors run the gamut of ages and abilities: some are professional artists, others are homeless people whom the charity works with. All have been working together in the Camden Town studio under the auspicious gaze of tutor Chris Cullen.
Now their sculptures will stand shoulder to shoulder at the Novas Gallery, Parkway, NW1, from June 20-July 5. Monday to Saturday 12-7pm. Entry is free. SIMON WROE
