Hopper Sunday concert
PREVIEW: ELIAS FAWCETT TRUST CONCERT Lauderdale House
HAMPSTEAD born and bred Catherine Hopper is set to perform at the annual Elias Fawcett Trust concert at Lauderdale House.
Ms Hopper, a soprano currently studying at the National Opera Studio, was recently the winner of the Elias Fawcett Award in the Royal Over-Seas League competition.
As a child she sang with the New London Children’s Choir, Finchley Children’s Music Group and the Highgate Choral Society.
She will be accompanied by pianist James Baillieu. The Elias Fawcett Trust has been supporting family-friendly concerts at Lauderdale House since 2001.
Natalia Jimenez, who runs the trust, is committed to giving young artists the chance to perform in public, believing that playing to live audiences is one of the best ways to foster the skill and enthusiasm that forms the heart of music.
The Elias Fawcett Trust concert is an ideal opportunity to allow younger family members an opportunity to experience classical music in a relaxed atmosphere. With concert/lunch tickets available and the chance to chat with the artists after the performance, it should provide a perfectly amiable Sunday afternoon in Highgate. • Catherine Hopper Song Recital is at Lauderdale House, Highgate Hill, on Sunday April 20. Tickets £15 (£12 concs and £9 for under-16s). 020 8348 8716.
