Dumb and dumber: Nicollette Sheridan and Cedric the Entertainer

A turkey by any other name...

CODE NAME: THE CLEANER

THE star of this so-called comedy is a character calling himself Cedric the Entertainer, apparently aÅ stand-up US comic popular enough to have a movie in his grasp.
Basically it’s a spoof on The Bourne Ultimatum films, except that the man with an identity crisis (Cedric) is an overweight black janitor who wakes up in a hotel room with a bump on his head, a dead body on the bed beside him and a briefcase under the bed bulging with $250,000 in crisp notes.
He can’t remember who he is or how he got there. At a local bar he runs into a dishy waitress (Lucy Liu) who claims to be his girl friend, and they immediately fall foul of FBI agents and a ruthless arms dealer (Mark Dacascos).
The whole thing is a hugely unfunny waste of screen time, with the laughs falling as flat as Cedric measuring his length on the floor in numerous fights.
With the festive spirit in mind, there’s only one verdict: this has to be the turkey of the year.
