PREVIEW - KINDRED SPIRITS
CD

HAVING already secured a deal with a major record label, the celebrity endorsement of Myleene Klass and recorded an exceptional debut album, Kindred Spirits are definitely a choir to look out for this autumn.
Kindred Spirits features more than 20 members from across London, aged between 6 and 14.
Following extensive auditions, the choir embraces the diversity of modern Britain, featuring children you might expect to see in any classroom or playground up and down the country.
Talented, professional and hugely excited about the project, the children’s enthusiasm exudes through every track on the album.
As the ambassador for EMI Classics, Myleene Klass – perhaps best known as a former member of pop group Hear’Say, who also has a career as a classical pianist, commercial model and radio presenter – is regularly sent material from new artists and groups on the label.
When Ms Klaas listened to the Kindred Spirits’ demo, she was instantly smitten.
“The moment I heard the demo CD of Kindred Spirits, I knew I wanted to be involved in the project,” she said.
“Maybe it’s because I’m a new mum, but these children are adorable and so talented.”
Having met the children, Myleene agreed to both fully endorse Kindred Spirits and help with any promotional activity she will be able to fulfil, making them the first project she has taken on since the birth of her baby, Ava, earlier this summer.
The classical album features the choir’s own take on tracks as diverse as Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’, ‘Here Comes The Sun’ and the Christmas carol, ‘In The Bleak Midwinter.’
Kindred Spirit Oscar summed up the positive attitude surrounding the group.
“Its a great opportunity and has been a fantastic experience so far.
“It’s really cool that we all get on so well together and I am enjoying all the hard work and the fun.
“The music sounds really great with all of us singing together and I am looking forward to singing loads more with Kindred Spirits and am proud to be a part of such a great group of kids!”
Recorded over the summer in London and set for release early in December, the album is set to become a “must have” this Christmas.
Thomas Kaurich, Head of EMI Classics, said, “We are all very excited about Kindred Spirits – their enthusiasm, professionalism and sheer talent has simply blown us all away.”
