The Review - THEATRE
Published: 11 October 2007

In the wings

• ROBBING the local store throws Wayne and his little brother into a morass of confusion and soul searching, not to mention prison.
Mr Anderson’s Store at The Clerkenwell Theatre spends the night behind bars with the brothers, as they get to the roots of their anger with the world.
The play runs at the Exmouth Market venue until October 13, priced £7 / £5.

• IS the novel on stage doomed to be a bastardised version of the original?
Prepare for a lively debate on the subject at the monthly finboroughforum at the Finborough Theatre, on Monday October 22.
It’s a little out of the area (Chelsea, to be precise), but the impressive group of panelists – FT theatre critic Ian Shuttleworth, playwright Rachel Wagstaff and writer / performer chairman Jack Klaff – and nominal fee (£2) should be enough to twist your arm.

• THE Queen’s grandmother, Queen Mary, had a penchant for antiques, particularly those belonging to other people.
The King’s Head’s entertaining production of Queen Mary At The Antiques Roadshow places the austere matriarch on a special edition of the TV programme, dishing the dirt on her family life.
The show runs Sunday October 14 and Monday 15, tickets £12 / £10.

• CARTOON banker Alex, the archetype for devious economists everywhere, bursts out of the pages of the Daily Telegraph this week and onto the stage.
The drawings of Charles Peattie will be brought to life actor Robert Bathurst (from TV sitcom Cold Feet) in a live performance at the Arts Theatre, from October 11.
