ASIDE from the fact that there is very little on musically at this time of year – yes even musicians have homes to go and mothers to love them – there are never-ending pub nights and parties, not to mention the best TV all year.
So it’s up to you. Stay in and watch Pauline leave Walford or go out and sing ropey pop songs with your friends on the way home from an end-of-year shindig.
So this is the year that was: James Morrison, Rihanna, The Automatic, Larrikin Love, Ndubz and many more (I just can’t be bothered to list them all). And not forgetting the return of the Camden Crawl festival, the re-opening of The Roundhouse, and of course the filming of the Album Chart Show at Koko, the renamed Camden Palais. It’s all happening in this part of town.
The other local success story was of course Islington native Lily Allen, who hit the charts like a cyclone earlier this year.
So what’s next? In 2007 we can look forward to a two-day Camden Crawl, for the first time in its history – woohoo – and more of Brinkman, my poppy tip for the top.
See you on the other side. |
